The peace prize isn’t very noble this year.

And the peace prize was not enough to stop anti-war protests in Washington. Activists say while Barack Obama had promised the American people change and an end to wars started by his predecessor, in reality all they see is more fighting.

Obama sends 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan

President Obama has committed thirty thousand more troops to Afghanistan, but has also announced a withdrawal could begin as early as the middle of 2011. Meanwhile, some in the U.S are skeptical Obama’s new strategy will work.

Obama’s plan for Afghanistan unrealistic

In his speech to the nation, Barack Obama may have won points with conservatives, but alienated the base that got him elected. Jake Diliberto of Veterans Rethinking Afghanistan says that Obama’s plan is unrealistic and cannot fulfill the goals he set out.

Why did we give that piece of SHIT a Nobel PEACE Prize?

I hate Obama and his lack of change. Obama promised to end the war and not raise taxes. Now, he is going to send AT LEAST 34k more troops and now we are talking about a War Tax!!!! WTF!?!?!?! Wake up and burn your flags folks, your government has sold your country to banks and corporations while you were sleeping! He is a piece shit, just like Bush. It’s time to retract that Nobel Peace Prize. What a joke!

And yes, I know John Murtha is only proposing this so we take a harder look at the war situation – which is smart. I just can’t believe we are even considering more troops under the promise of change and how FUCKING broke we are.

(Nov. 24) — With President Barack Obama expected to announce his plan for Afghanistan on Dec. 1, the debate about how to pay for the war is heating up. The U.S. commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, wants 40,000 more troops. Obama’s plan would send 34,000 during the next year, U.S. officials told McClatchy Newspapers. House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey opposes any increase in the 68,000-member U.S. force in Afghanistan. But now that a surge appears inevitable, he and some other top

Democrats are demanding a new tax to cover the expense of the war. Various estimates put the annual cost at $500,000 to $1 million per soldier. “If we don’t pay for it, the cost of the Afghan war will wipe out every initiative we have to rebuild our own economy,” the Wisconsin Democrat told ABC News. Obey, who came into office in 1969, said that’s what happened during the Vietnam War. If the war is to be fought, “it’s only fair that everyone share the burden,” said a joint statement from Obey, House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson and Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman John Murtha.

Their proposal would impose a 1 percent levy on middle-class taxpayers. Those earning more would be taxed at a higher rate, depending on how much is needed for the war. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin has also talked about a war tax, but only for the wealthy.

Guantanamo Bay not likely to close in January

U.S. officials have announced that Guantanamo Bay will probably not be closing in January as scheduled. Defense Secretary Robert Gates says that the closing is a little more complicated than they had initially thought. President Obama made the closing of the highly controversial facility a priority and actually signed an order to set a deadline for the closing during his first week in office. But as January approaches, there are some major problems in the plans, including where exactly these prisoners are going to go.

Obama makes another BIG mistake

Obama to Reappoint Bernanke as Fed Chief
By: Reuters

U.S. President Barack Obama will reappoint Ben Bernanke for a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve on Tuesday, a senior administration official said on Monday.

Bernanke, whose four-year term as head of the U.S. central bank ends on Jan. 31, 2010, will also be praised by Obama for his handling of the financial crisis, the official said.

Financial markets have given Bernanke high marks on the job and his reappointment was widely forecast, although a White House announcement was not expected until later this year.

Bernanke, 55, was appointed by President George W. Bush to succeed Alan Greenspan and is a widely respected monetary scholar who has long called for a more open central bank.

In remarks prepared for delivery at an event in Massachusetts, where Obama is on vacation, the president will also say the U.S. auto industry is “showing signs of life” and the U.S. credit and housing markets have been “saved from collapse,” the official said.

“The man next to me, Ben Bernanke, has led the Fed through one of the worst financial crises that this nation and this world have ever faced,” Obama will say in a statement to the media at 9 am New York time.

Bernanke has led the Fed and the U.S. economy during its most tumultuous period since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The announcement on Tuesday will end any lingering worries about who might head the central bank as the economy recovers.

Bernanke has mapped out his strategy to pull back the U.S. economy from exceptionally low interest rates and extricate the Fed from a flood of loans to financial markets without sparking unwanted inflation.

Obama Joker Posters – hahaha!

Officials in Clermont, Florida, are flummoxed. They can’t decide if the Obama as Joker posters put up around town are illegal or protected by freedom of speech. “The Clermont Police Department says the signs involve city code violations and freedom of speech, so investigators are asking the state attorney for help,” reports WFTV.

“Police have made no arrests or filed any formal charges, so Eyewitness News asked what laws the sign hangers are breaking. Even if it wasn’t the face of the Joker, the city says any kind of signage placed on public property is illegal,” the news station explains.

No word on how many people are under investigation for placing garage sale and lost dog signage around the central Florida town.

“Police say code enforcement usually removes other signs off poles and out of the ground, but the glued Joker posters are causing damage and the city says it is trying to determine how much it costs to fix. One Post Office blue box had to be re-painted.”

Alex Jones continues to stress that the posters should be placed in public commons areas along with other posters and signage. The posters should not be glued on government or private property.

On Friday, Fox News covered the Obama as Joker campaign. Fox quotes a Clermont police officer who said investigators are attempting to gather enough evidence to present the case to the state attorney’s office for review.

“No motive has been formally determined, but Jensen noted a contest posted on Infowars.com that called on people to download a version of the poster to be hung in ‘public spaces’ in their neighborhood,” Joshua Rhett Miller writes for Fox.

A Channel 13 news report from earlier in the week.

The Clermont police and Florida attorney general’s office are wasting a lot of time and tax payer money investigating what amounts to petty vandalism. Authorities in Florida consider stapling the posters to utility poles a crime.

It is probably illegal for dogs to do their business on public and private property in Clermont. It would be interesting to find out how many times the state AG has been called to investigate. Ditto skateboarders and litterers.

If ace investigators in the Florida AG’s office are having a difficult time determining a “motive” for what they consider a crime worthy of expensive investigation, they need to read Obama as Joker Explained.

Facts on the Fed in 7 Minutes

The Federal Reserve is one of the most powerful and secretive institutions in Washington, long considered beyond the reach of lawmakers. But now, as details emerge of how the Fed secretly doled out more than a trillion dollars during the financial crisis, a rare bipartisan movement in Congress demands that the Fed be held accountable.

Obama Depopulation Policy Exposed

Panelists warn of the revival of eugenics under Obama’s modern healthcare through the denial of care to millions who would be judged ‘not fit to live’, just as in Nazi Germany.

Historian Anton Chaitkin also alleges that Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel, in working with Obama, has also called for the Hippocratic oath to be ‘junked.’
