This will be Michael Moore’s best film to date
This film had to be made and everyone in America needs to see it – twice. A year ago today the biggest robbery in the history of man took place with the assistance of the US Government. Your 401ks, IRAs and home values didn’t just disappear, they went to Wall Street and guess what? It wasn’t just Bush that let it happen, Obama voted for the bailouts and has continued to shovel money and power to Wall Street since taking office. There is no difference, skin color and speech doesn’t count. If for some reason your too damn closed-minded to watch it because Micheal Moore made it, please catch PBS’s version online (it’s on my blog) or Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2 – which is due out early next year. This is big deal, the BIGGEST!

Ten Trillion and Counting by PBS’s Frontline
The journey begins as FRONTLINE correspondent Forrest Sawyer takes viewers to a secret location: the Treasury’s debt auction room, where the U.S. government sells securities backed by the “full faith and credit of the United States.” On this day, the government is auctioning $67 billion of Treasury securities. The money borrowed will be used to fund services and programs that the government cannot pay for through tax revenues alone.
Observers warn that the United States’ reliance on borrowing to fund essential programs is a dangerous gamble. For the first time, investors are beginning to question the ability of federal government to meet its growing financial obligations, and fading confidence can have dire consequences. “You might have a situation where there is one day when the government says we need to sell several billion dollars of bonds, and nobody shows,” Economist reporter Greg Ip tells FRONTLINE. “No money to pay the Social Security checks, no money to give to the states for their Medicaid programs. Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.”
Yet more borrowing is exactly what the Obama administration plans to do: hundreds of billions to bail out the banks and other financial institutions; tens of billions more for the auto industry; $275 billion for homeowners and mortgage lenders; and a giant $787 billion stimulus package to jump-start an economy spiraling downward. Just like the Bush administration before it, Obama and his team are going to borrow big.
“That’s the paradox of the situation that we’re in now,” observes Matt Miller, author of The Tyranny of Dead Ideas. “Government has got to run big deficits to stimulate the economy, deficits that would have been unthinkable … because government’s the only entity with the wherewithal to prop up a demand in the economy when businesses and consumers are all pulling back.”

New Doc – A Soldier’s Peace (TRAILER)
When Army journalist Marshall Thompson came home from a tour of duty in Iraq, two things were clear to him — the war is wrong and he needed to do something to stop it. Marshall sets off on foot to walk the entire 500 mile length of his conservative home state of Utah in the hopes of getting people talking about war and peace. All along his 27-day journey, Marshall meets other peace-minded Utahans, as well as those who vehemently oppose the idea of a solider calling for an end to war. No matter what your views are on the War in Iraq, A Soldier’s Peace will leave you with something to think about.

War 08.08.08. The Art of Betrayal.
“War 08.08.08. The Art of Betrayal” – is one of the first documentary Internet-films. This is the most outspoken film about the war, that started on the day of opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing, the film about the war, in which tens of Russian peacemaker perished as well as hundreds of peaceful Ossetians; it is the film about the war that turned out to be the doping drug for the rating of the republican candidate to the post of the President of the USA – John McCain.
The editorial staff of Russia.ru kept an eye on the progress of this war from the very beginning of Georgian invasion in Tskhinval. The camera crew of the TV-channel came into the destroyed republic on the 12th of August for the first time.
This trip resulted in more than 100 footages about the destroyed capital of the South Ossetia, about the burnt villages, dead civilians, about the families left without their houses, about the people, whose relatives are missing.
Russia.ru created a large base of experts, commentators and witnesses of the war crimes of the Georgian army. Finally it was decided to carry out a complete investigation of the events in the Caucasus, and the camera crew of Russia.ru headed by the writer Kirill Benediktov went the the South Ossetia again.
The stories, that were told to the journalists by the witnesses of these events and by prosecutor’s office of the Republic, clearly showed that the film about genocide of the Ossetians just can not have any other name but “The Art of Betrayal”
The attack upon Tskhinval was preceded by a range of treacheries. OSCE and other international observers have just ignored the claim of the Ossetian part about the fact that the Georgian army is preparing the base area for the bombardment of Tskhinval and has already taken a strategically important high ground and for several weeks has been building entrenchments, blindages and fire trenches there.
Exactly from these entrenchments fire was delivered to the sleeping city by the Georgian peacemakers wearing the uniform of NATO – although they were the people whose duty was to keep peace within this region, but not to bring deaths. The traitors, the fifth column, turned out to be in the South Ossetia as well. And the most straightforward treachery was the speech of Mihail Saakashvili, who 4 hours before the attack upon Tskhinval calmed down the Ossetian people, persuading them that he doesn’t want to set the war off.
The film “War 08.08.08. The Art of Betrayal” is made up of 40 hours of the video-footage, brought from the South Ossetia by the camera crew, found on the YouTube Web site and other video- portals, sent by the Internet users, or taken from the video recordings of the cell-phones of the dead Georgian soldiers.
For the first time in the history the war has been recorded by the video-cameras of the cell-phones. These recording give the audience the chance to see the attack upon the South Ossetia in the way, the aggressors (who were destroying the houses of the Ossetian people with the cries of joy) saw it.
The uniqueness of these recordings is obvious: the journalists just are not able to film the very thick of the war, the faces of the murderers at the moment when the crime is being committed, the most straightforward and scary video of genocide. All this was recorded by the Georgian military men themselves.
The mission of this film was to show the truth about this war to the huge amount of viewers, to the millions of people in the whole world. It is the film about those people, who set off this massacre, about the fact who backs Mihail Saakashvili, and who received political dividends from the genocide of the Ossetian people and from the western informational chasing aimed at Russia.
In the nearest future the film will be translated into English, Chinese, Spanish, German and other languages and will be available for all the users of the World Wide Web. If someone of our audience wishes to take part in the distribution of this film, if you have the chance to help us, you can put the hyperlink to the film “War 08.08.08” in your blog or on your Internet-page.
It is so, because today any people, who are not indifferent to the tragedy of the South Ossetia, can become the participants of unmasking the lies of a range of Western mass media and of politicians, with whose connivance and assistance Georgia was able to attack the sleeping Tskhinval to frighten the whole world by the made up “Russian threat”.
It is so, because the war in the South Ossetia is not to vanish in history, is not to be forgotten and is not to become one the latest historical myths.
It is so, because all the world has to know what happened on the 8th of August, 2008.

The End of America
The End of America, a new documentary from award-winning filmmakers Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg (The Trials of Darryl Hunt, The Devil Came on Horseback), based on Naomi Wolf’s 2007 book of the same name, details the ten steps a country takes when it slides from an open to a closed society. It’s an historical look at trends in once-functioning democracies from modern history that are being repeated in our country today. It gives any reader (or viewer of the lecture or film) a much-needed history lesson and constitutional refresher. Most importantly, it puts the recent, gradual loss of civil liberties in the U.S. in a historical context. The average American might not be alarmed at AT&T selling our private information to the Bush administration, but when this action is seen as part of a larger series of erosions and events, a pattern emerges with unfortunate consequences that become disturbingly clear.
On Tuesday, October 21, the film will premiere online via SnagFilms and will include a special introduction from ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero. The film in its entirety and Anthony’s remarks will be available to watch on SnagFilms.com for free.

Great doc about another problem in the country.
a/k/a Tommy Chong chronicles the entrapment and incarceration of comedy icon Tommy Chong of the legendary comedy duo, Cheech and Chong. Josh Gilbert takes on the event in his documentary, and offers a sometimes frightening, often hilarious account of Operation Pipe Dreams, a nationwide drug paraphernalia sting spearheaded by a federal prosecutor named Mary Beth Buchanan, appointed by George Bush three short days after the attacks of 9/11.
After fully armed SWAT teams raided the comedian’s home and his business, Chong Glass, Chong was sentenced to 9 months in federal prison for “conspiracy to manufacture and distribute drug paraphernalia through his family business, specializing in handmade glass water pipes, or “bongs”. Of the 55 defendants prosecuted, Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong was the only one with no prior convictions to receive jail time. Justifying the sentence, George Bush’s appointee, Mary Beth Buchanan cited the classic Cheech and Chong comedy Up In Smoke as evidence that Tommy Chong had become wealthy “trivializing law enforcement efforts to combat marijuana trafficking and use.” As Roger Ebert said after viewing the film, “You do not have to approve of drugs to be offended.”
The film provides a charming portrait of a counter culture icon set against the backdrop of a War on Drugs gone horribly awry.

ZEITGEIST: ADDENDUM
ZEITGEIST: ADDENDUM couldn’t have come at a better time. This easy to understand and well cut documentary gives us a good lesson in modern monetary policy, which I think all American could use right now. It goes into comprehensive detail on why I consider the Fed ENEMY NUMBER 1. Addendum is the follow up to the highly discussed and award-winning documentary, Zeitgeist. It’s definitely a watch that require a little commitment, as it runs about 2 hours (well worth your time). In addition, it may give you a little insight about your possible future as an American citizen or as a global citizen.
I have spent countless hours over the past few years researching some of the facts that presented in this film through many different sources such as books, modern and historical news articles, mainstream news, independent news, other documentaries and I have even visited my local library and checked out some old coffee-stained books (at least I hope it was coffee). As a majority, most of the time the facts check out (at least, the important ones). I really wish this wasn’t true, because frankly, it’s bit terrifying. I suppose, I would find it easier to write off as bullshit if I thought these guys that make these statements (including Ron Paul, Jim Cramer, Alex Jones, Chuck Baldwin, Max Keiser, Dennis Kucinich, Bob Barr, Jim Rogers, Peter Schiff, Cynthia McKinney, etc.) had some kind of agenda. Such as making money. However, that wouldn’t explain it because they do not profit from their exposures and a lot of times these documentaries are released on the Internet or they charge just enough to cover production and self-distribution costs. Example being this documentary, it’s available on the site for $5 and it was uploaded last week shortly after it’s release (Thursday, October 2nd, 2008). Let’s just say that Peter Joseph is not trying to be the next Michael Moore. ; )
As usual, I have no agenda of my own. If you must pin me w/that, then you can call it an agenda of concern, because this is the country and world I live in (and I can’t simply love it or leave it). Also any opposition is welcome, please free feel to email me as I would love to be incorrect on this.
